about

Hi there— I’m Emma (she/they), a lesbian artist and founder of craft night. With a background in Arts Administration and a passion for “bad art” and crafting, I have always sought queer creative community. With craft night, I’m hoping to build a supportive network for queer creatives to explore different mediums, connect with each other, and encourage people with all levels of experience to embrace their inner artist.

The capital-A Art World has long been exclusionary of the queer community, women, transgender, and gender-nonconforming folks, Black and Indigenous people of color, immigrants, and people who hold other historically marginalized identities. Participating in The Arts has innumerable other barriers, too, including finances and education. Right now, we’re combatting these issues by offering low-cost pop-ups, sharing resources and arts and crafts tutorials, and giving a platform for queer and BIPOC artists to share and sell their work.
